STMicroelectronics Completes Acquisition of NXP’s MEMS Sensor Business
Deal strengthens ST’s sensor portfolio for automotive and industrial markets
STMicroelectronics has completed the acquisition of NXP Semiconductors’ MEMS (micro-electromechanical systems) sensor business, strengthening its capabilities and product offering in sensor technologies across automotive and industrial markets.
The transaction, which was announced last year and has now received all required regulatory approvals, brings additional sensor products, technology expertise and development resources into ST’s existing portfolio. The newly acquired business is expected to contribute to revenue from early 2026.
By integrating NXP’s MEMS operations, ST expands its global sensor footprint and enhances its ability to serve applications where safety, reliability and performance are critical, particularly in automotive systems and industrial environments.
The acquisition supports STMicroelectronics’ long-term strategy of broadening its sensor capabilities and delivering advanced semiconductor solutions to a diverse, global customer base, while continuing to focus on innovation, scale and sustainable growth.
