Cirrus Logic has expanded its professional audio portfolio with the introduction of a new family of nine high-performance audio converters, designed to deliver advanced features and premium sound quality while offering an improved price-to-performance ratio. The latest range targets a broad spectrum of professional and prosumer audio applications, including musical instruments, podcasting equipment, active speakers, mixing consoles and installed sound systems.
The new portfolio comprises analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs), digital-to-analogue converters (DACs) and CODECs, providing design engineers with greater flexibility when developing mid-range and professional audio products. The company said the additions complement its existing converter range, enabling customers to select solutions that best meet their performance and cost requirements.
Among the key enhancements is Hybrid Gain Control technology, which improves microphone preamplifier performance by reducing audible artefacts and minimising noise during gain adjustments. The devices also feature configurable digital filters, allowing manufacturers to tailor sound characteristics to different audio applications while simplifying system design.
Cirrus Logic said the global market for professional and prosumer audio equipment continues to grow as musicians, content creators, broadcasters and audio professionals increasingly seek high-quality sound without significantly increasing system costs. The new converters are intended to help manufacturers deliver premium audio performance across a wider range of products at competitive price points.
The company believes audio quality has become an increasingly important differentiator across professional and consumer audio equipment. By expanding its converter portfolio, Cirrus Logic aims to support designers developing next-generation audio systems that balance performance, flexibility and affordability for a wide range of end markets.
