Gigaphoton Inc. Expands Kyushu Operations to Strengthen Semiconductor Customer Support and Engineer Training

The company has installed new lithography laser training systems at its Kyushu facility to accelerate field service engineer development and support rising semiconductor equipment demand driven by AI-related industry expansion.

Gigaphoton Inc. (Head Office: Oyama, Tochigi; President and CEO: Tatsuo Enami), a manufacturer of light sources for semiconductor lithography, announced that it has installed training lasers at its Kyushu office, with operations commencing in June 2026, further strengthening its customer support capabilities.

The recent growth in the semiconductor industry, driven by increasing AI demand, is fueling a rise in capital investment. Accordingly, the number of Gigaphoton lasers operating at customer sites will increase. Gigaphoton is strengthening its support capabilities by enhancing the training environment for Field Service Engineers (FSEs). Training lasers have been installed at the Kyushu office, with operations scheduled to begin in June 2026.

The Kyushu office has established a cleanroom capable of accommodating up to three training lasers. With this installation, FSE training capacity is enhanced, supporting faster skill development. It also enables Gigaphoton to provide training programs to customers in western Japan, thereby further strengthening collaboration.
